I am taking one star off simply because the placement of the outlets makes using more than a couple of adapters difficult. A person really has to do some "fiddling" and re-arranging plugs to get use of the most of them. The shortish cord is no problem form myself, while it might be for others.Overall, a decent unit. And for the price very good buy.Clint.
It supposedly has a lifetime warranty but the model number doesn't exist on the Belkin web site when you try to get a warranty replacement and you must pay the shipping back to them. It's dead after about 5 months. This thing is trash. I'll just buy a better product with the money it would cost me to ship this back. Reset switch doesn't do the trick either. The switch is flimsy too. DON'T BOTHER BUYING THIS SURGE PROTECTOR. I'd give it a negative star if I could.
[.].It does not surprise me though that people are faking reviews on websites, I've found some to sound overly enthusiastic and treated them with a grain of salt (particularly with books). When I plug in an item there is a lot of resistance, on some of the outlets more than others, like something is slightly out of place blocking the outlet a bit.
As they are I'm content with them. This one seems ok.
I've bought a couple of other belkin surge protectors several years ago due to their reputation, I haven't had a power surge or lightning strike that I know of, so I can't tell you if they really do more than provide multiple outlets. For this one however, if you have those brick sized plugs, it's going to cover up at least two outlets due to the outlet spacing on the strip.
It doesn't have the light that the more expensive ones have to show that it's switched on or not. I think my other two also have lights that show that the surge protection part is still functional, I don't know if the surge protection part wears out over time, or how it works actually.
I'm thinking I should return it, in case it's an indication that the surge protector is poorly made and it might not work.I currently have doubts about Belkin's reputation in general, as I've been seeing online that they paid.65 cents per positive review at amazon, new egg, and buy.com (regardless of whether person had bought product or not). It's just too bad that it's to the extent described in the article.
this is a simple product that has no bells or whistles, but it does what I wanted it to do and that makes me 5-start happy.
So far so good.wanted a smaller one for my macbook.didn't need a huge outlet protector for the spot, and this filled the bill. Arrived quickly, good price, it works.
